why the black template

Someone asked me why the black template... well years ago when I lived in Berkeley a building was erected in San Francisco and at the time I thought it was ugly.. It was the Trans America pyramid and in front was a "thing" probably described as sculpture...it was, I recall, black and immediaely dubbed "Banker's Heart."

Guess I have always associated that chunk of solid blackness as the heart of the banking and credit card industries and the years have done nothing to dissuade me we were wrong with our banker heart label - so when I started this site all these many decades later - that image came to mind and this site got the black template to commemorate the heart of a banker.

Don't be afraid!

Some people who are wronged are afraid to complain. They fear being "legally attacked" by the person/business they complain about. Don't let that fear stop you - it's exactly what they want to happen. Scared consumers are loved by the big corporations with the big law firms they have on retainer.

I know, if you think a business or person will come after you with hired legal guns ablazing - it may be hard to complain. Lawyers use words that are meant to frighten you. They have a way of saying they "might" sue you without actually saying it - because they can't really threaten to sue you. But they know how to use words - and most people are frightened by even getting correspondence from a lawyer. Do not give them such power...

This site is a way to mention your complaint - with or without naming names- and where and to whom a complaint can be sent will be suggested. In unity there is strength! Enough complaining will even get some Federal and State agencies investigating!!!

And I don't mean complaints to the BBB - I am not sure those complaints do much.. I'm thinking in terms of complaints to higher level places like licensing boards and attorney general, and the Feds.

illegitimis nil carborundum welcomes you

A friend recently suggested I offer a service writing consumer complaint letters for people - but as I was IMing with another friend I recalled the Latin phrase about the bastards and one thing led to another and I decided that a blog had more of a chance of reaching more people and become like a class law suit [since we can't do those as easily anymore.]

And I must admit - my son has often said he is making me a tee shirt that reads: Go Ahead; Fuck With Me!

He thinks I appear as a mild mannered person and no one suspects that I will turn into "super consumer advocate" who can write zinging complaint letters at the drop of a tort - and that I do - and do it well!

I wrote one recently where I asked an accountant to either send me my signed efile permision form or refund me in full or he would be considered as having filed without consent- he did neither! He did not believe me - worse he sent me a partial refund for only the wrongly filed tax return - an admission he erred. The check he sent is on it's way back to him and a complaint will be filed with the IRS!

That's what I see for this blog - let's report the people who are taking advantage of consumers - we have to watch out for each other because the government will no longer help us...
