Bad dog food being recalled

Warning

Many of us have pets - check what you are feeding them just as you watch what you eat for you

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands recalled 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday after reports of kidney failure and deaths....

The recall covers the company's "cuts and gravy" style food, which consists of chunks of meat in gravy, sold in cans and small foil pouches between December 3 and March 6 throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico...

The pet food was sold by stores operated by the Kroger Co., Safeway Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and PetSmart Inc.

New Year - new direction

Started this blog as a diatribe on specific corporations - at least in my head... now that a new year has begun, I am thinking that I will get into some specifics on how corporations like to think of themselves as "persons" except when they don't ...

more later after I do some research....

Ah those corporations

Welcome to the United Entities of Wal-Mart, Sony, Haliburton or whatever : - )

Can you imagine a country where we pledge allegiance to a corporate logo ? I can and it's sad.

Our debt is huge and it owned by China. what if it was sold to say Halliburton? They could cut a deal - "do as we say or we'll call the debt" ...scary? yup

Corporations are like people - they have rights - but unlike people they do not have all the responsibilities we have.

See - they can easily declare bankruptcy and not have to repay outstanding debts. People no longer can do that thanks to the MBNA Law that Congress passed.

The also are major contributors to these current crop of politicians...mostly to repug candidates but also to some dems as they are hedging their bets this year.

Not all corporations are evil - some actually do good work...but the evil ones are gobbling up our resources - the airwaves, the print media, our energy companies, and our downtowns.... they are greedy and they won't stop until they own everything they want....

How do we stop them? We a good start is to vote for Democrats this Tuesday

The black [doughnut] hole is coming soon!

So many rants so little time...but here is one for today...that Medicare Part D[umb, angerous, eceptive] doughnut hole...

I've mentioned this hole before and do believe it was planned with the specific end results in mind...why else was it included?

Soon - like next week - many who signed up for Part D will start reaching the prescription cost amount where their coverage STOPS. They must continue to pay monthly for Part D even though they also have to pay for the next $3000 of the cost of their prescriptions.

Why was this put in? Duh...because the legislation was written by the pharmaceuticals and although I have not yet done the research, I am guessing that a majority of people spend between $2,000 and $5000 on medications and so that became a good gap so that the drug kings could make the maximum profit while not having to offer any discounts and still collecting the monthly fees.

What will seniors do? Many will have to make choices between meds and food or meds and rent or meds and other necessities.
Do the repugs really want this? My answer is YES - or they would NOT HAVE ENACTED PART D...Think about that when you vote this November....

The greedy black hole

Do I keep picking on the greedy pharmas? You betcha! Especially now that many are falling into the donut hole and having to pay for their own meds - while still paying that unconscionable premium....

Did the population ask for this plan d[for dumb]? Nope - it was forced on the citizens by the arm twisting corrupt Tom DeLay and his equally corrupt cronies in the middle of the night....so when you are paying for that greedy donut - thank Tom and the pharmas and remember you are contributing to the ever sky rocketing costs of that CEO's yearly pay and bonuses. Do you think that CEO would sign up for a plan like this? No way !
